Was Eve Really So Wrong?

So I'm sitting here thinking: dang, Eve really got the worse end of punishment in the Garden of Eden. Think aobut it; she has to go thru pain and suffering to have a child, she gets stuck with aunt flo, and she's made to be subservient to her husband, in essence cursed to be the weaker gender. On the other hand, Adam is cursed to have to work hard for his lot in life, does this seem fair? Reading this passage, Adam was told not to eat of the long before Eve was even formed, so my question is, did Eve know the full scope of why the tree was forbidden? It is in man's nature to be cut and dry and give only the facts; not reasoning behind it or the extent of the consequences. Women on the other hand, need details and side effects. With this being said, was Eve simply acting in the stead of the help meet just as she was created to do. Did she under misguided actions feel that she was merely helping her man and was giving to him of innocent and good intentions? What if she wasn't aware that God had so don't eat of it and merely thought Adam said no because he wasn't sure of the side effects of the fruit. Eve was tricked, but Adam willingly made a decision to disobey the commandment and then tried to throw Eve under the proverbial bus by casting blame and pointing fingers when confronted!! Seems to me, even though all sin is the same in the eyes of God, Adam's punishment should have been the harsher of the two. He was placed on earth to rule and have the final say so, why then did he decide to give that position to Eve? Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong, but seems to me that Eve has taken the rap for too long as being the one who got us kicked out the garden and essentially being the cause of mankind's problems. No, I don't agree with what she did, but has anyone ever stopped to think why she did it? And Adam chose to fail in his role as a man and a leader, why doesn't anyone have a problem with that?
